Following installation of data recorders in September which revealed 87% of the 10,000 vehicle movements in the village in the course of a week were exceeding the 30mph limit Colmworth Parish Council launched a consultation in November to determine local views on the installation of average speed cameras.

27 parishioners attended a public meeting on Saturday 1st December and expressions of support have been pouring into the Parish Council.  The feedback from parishioners has been overwhemingly in favour of installation of cameras.

The Parish Council has already pledged £3,530 and they are delighted to have received pledges from residents of a further £5,500.  This leaves only £970 to reach our target of a £10,000 local contribution towards average speed cameras.  We believe this contribution will put us in a good position to receive cameras.

We are keen to continue fund raising for the remaining £970 to reach our £10,000 target by the end of December.  The more expressions of support we receive the higher our chances of getting the cameras.  If you are able to express your support or pledge a donation please do e-mail the Parish Clerk  Thank you
